As your scout becomes more experienced at camping he will find what gear works best for him. The following
list is based on a weekend campout during the spring or fall months.

SLEEPING GEAR
1 - Sleeping bag
A relatively light weight bag will do. Ratings  are in
degrees. A 15 degree bag is intended on
temperatures higher than 15 degrees. Blankets can
be added as temps get colder.
Sleeping mats are the most important item. Its
function is to keep one insulated from the ground
where most of the cold comes from.

* A scout can only carry a knife after he has earned his "Totenship"  Fixed blade knives are not
allowed by National Regulations. A folding knife is recomended along with a good Multi Tool
