SIMPLE FACTS
Your feet are going to get wet. You wont be changing your socks everytime
they get wet.
Ideally you will have socks for canoing and dry socks for camping. You will be on the
water 5 days. The method will be to have socks meant for the time on the water and
wear them everyday. They can be dried out once you've made landfall and worn
again the next day.
Here are some sock combinations.
WET COMBINATION
iIf you decide to wear a wool blend
while canoing it would be
advisable to wear a light weight
sock liiner as well. The liner will
prevent chaffing and blisters.
Although this can be a bit pricey it
is the best method.
One set of wet socks can be enough for five days on the water. We will be
washing our gear. Its not necessary to run out and buy expensive high tech
socks. One can just as well use cotton socks.
DRY COMBINATION
For dry wear a couple pairs of socks will be
suffitciant. I prefer a wool blend such as
"Smart Wool". A good plan could be to bring 2
pair wool blend and 1 or 2 pair cotton.  Keep
all socks together in a water proof bag. 1
gallon Zip Lock will do.
